About me
I started as SWL on 13.05.1977. My first RX was Minerva (old navy rx) with EK10 as IF stage and BFO, antennas were Windom and 86m long wire.
Long wire was better. I have heard CE0Y, FY, PY, LU and other interesting DXs on 40 and 80m bands. After I've got married I've
moved to my wife's parent's home to another part of our village Halenkovice. Here our sons Petr and Franta were born.
There was limited place to build large antennas, so I put inverted L antenna from a tree to roof of the house. This antenna
has worked wery well. I've heard e.g. KH7, KL7 on 80m.
After a few years, we build our new house on other part of our village :-). We have moved again. There our daughter
Martina was born. I've build new antenna here - deltaloop for 80m band. It works also on 160 and 40m very well. I've heard e.g. ZK2.
It was very nice.
In 1991 I started contesting with our club call OK2KGE on 2m band. Transceiver was home made by OK2BQR called
Klinovec with 70W PA and antenna was PA0MS. It were very nice years full of fun with nice hobby. Unfortunately problems with
TVI has appeard and I had to stop my activities.
I've resigned and bought CB station. I have this station to this day. As time has got, I've put up with it but I've still hope that maybe
in the furure ... .
I was very surprised by my family when I've had 50th birthday. I've got new all band RX Sangean ATS 909 and box of new qsl cards. I've tested
new rig immediately and it works really good! I was back and started to build new antennas. My son is OK2CQR and if I build new antenna, he can use it, too.
I've build invees for 80 and 40m band and I have HB9CV from OK2QR for 20m band. At 25.01.2007 I passed exams and now I'm OK7WA. I use FT-707 with invees and HB9CV
and my new home made vertical for 40m with 36 radials. Our hobby is wonderful and I really like it.
